Dallas, TX — (October 22, 2025) Life School proudly announces that Dr. Alissa Russell, Mathematics Department Head at Life High School Oak Cliff, has been named the 2025 Texas Public Charter Schools Association (TPCSA) Teacher of the Year.

Coach Misty Booker is a wonderful addition to Life School Oak Cliff, bringing her passion and energy to both the middle school volleyball and girls basketball teams. As a dedicated coach, she focuses on helping young athletes develop their skills, teamwork, and confidence on the court. Beyond athletics, Coach Booker also shapes young minds in the classroom, teaching middle school history with the same enthusiasm and commitment she brings to coaching. Her dual role allows her to connect with students in multiple ways, making a positive impact on their academic and athletic journeys alike. New to the community, Coach Booker has quickly become a valuable asset to Life School Oak Cliff, inspiring students to strive for excellence in both sports and academics. Her balanced approach encourages students to grow as athletes and individuals, building a strong foundation for success now and in the future.

Life High School Waxahachie September Coach Spotlight

Coach Rodrick Woods begins his second year with Life School at Waxahachie Middle School. He serves as part of the CTE department, where he enjoys teaching technology in the classroom, and also coaches both football and basketball. His students and athletes consistently speak highly of him, noting the leadership he provides both on and off the field. Coach Woods is intentional about building strong relationships with his students while also challenging them to become the best versions of themselves. We look forward to seeing the continued positive impact he will make in the lives of those he encounters.
