2020-2021 Strategic Plan

Goal 1: Strong Academics

1.1 Close the Opportunity Gap - Elementary

  • Provide intentional professional development, meaningful PLCs, and strong instructional practices at the elementary level.
  • Create a plan for tracking, monitoring, training and developing capacity in teachers to ensure all students are reading on grade level by 3rd grade.

1.2 Close the Opportunity Gap - Secondary 

  • Provide intentional professional development, meaningful PLCs, and strong instructional practices at the secondary level.
  • Provide enhanced CCMR opportunities for secondary students.

1.3 Employer of Choice

  • Provide equity and excellence in every classroom by investing in competitive teacher compensation (based on geographic region), recruiting high quality teachers and substitutes, teacher retention strategies, etc.
  • Provide a supportive and collaborative environment for staff through instructional coaches, district coordinators, on-boarding program, mentor program, etc.

1.4 School of Choice 

  • Attract and retain students through intentional opportunities to tell the Life School story.
  • Provide a supportive and collaborative environment through quality customer service for students and parents to have positive experiences.
  • Create, implement and monitor district defined criteria around operational classroom readiness including, space, personnel, technology, materials and equipment, etc.
  • Assess logistics of offering Pre-K in future years; ongoing district task force.

Goal 2: Character Training

2.1 LifeLeader 

  • Align LifeLeader activities across the district based on best practices identified.
  • Integrate LifeLeader attributes when recognizing staff, students, parents and the community.
  • Incorporate LifeLeader attributes into Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS).

2.2 Growth and Development 

  • Provide opportunities for students to grow as individuals based on their strengths and interests while building meaningful relationships.
  • Provide individualized personal/professional development and growth opportunities for staff.

Goal 3: Partnerships with Parents and the Community

3.1 Parent/Community Engagement 

  • Use a strategic approach to parenting events to align opportunities across all campuses and with district objectives.
  • Launch district-wide parent organization at every campus.

3.2 Community Engagement 

  • Create opportunities for community partners to engage.
  • Create opportunities to recognize community partners and volunteers using the LifeLeader attributes.

3.3 Corporate and University Partnerships

  • Create opportunities for corporate partners and universities to engage.
  • Communicate to parents and stakeholders about corporate grant opportunities.
  • Implement district-wide system for managing corporate and university partnerships.
