Life School officials announced that the district received an “A” rating for “Superior Achievement” under Texas’ 2022-2023 Charter FIRST financial accountability rating system. The “Superior Achievement” rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of Life School’s financial management and reporting system.
The primary goal of Charter FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of financial resources, a goal made more significant due to the complexity of accounting associated with Texas’ school finance system.
Life School’s proprietary leadership development program, LifeLeader, teaches staff and students 15 attributes that represent skills and knowledge necessary to be an effective leader. One of these attributes, Financial Literacy, helps students have the ability to understand how to make, manage, invest and spend money. Life School not only teaches this skill, but practices it in its own financial management.
“We are very pleased with Life School’s Charter FIRST rating,” said Life School’s Superintendent Dr. Brent Wilson. “This rating shows that schools are accountable not only for student learning, but also for achieving these results cost-effectively and efficiently.”
Life School has achieved the highest rating 14 of the last 15 years.
