Life School is now welcoming eligible 9-12 grade homeschool students to try out for and compete in UIL athletics and fine arts at its Waxahachie and Oak Cliff campuses following a 2025 Texas law that opened public school UIL activities to homeschool families.
Under Texas Education Code § 33.0832, homeschool students may now try out for and participate in UIL activities through their local public school district. Life School has built a program that allows qualifying homeschool students to join its athletic and fine arts programs, provided they meet state and district requirements.
Homeschool students may try out for the following programs:

- Football (Boys)
- Basketball (Boys/Girls)
- Soccer (Boys/Girls)
- Softball (Girls)
- Baseball (Boys)
- Track & Field (Boys/Girls)
- Golf (Boys/Girls)
Oak Cliff Athletics
- Cross Country (Boys/Girls)
- Volleyball (Girls)
- Football (Boys)
- Basketball (Boys/Girls)
- Soccer (Boys/Girls)
- Softball (Girls)
- Track & Field (Boys/Girls)
- Golf (Boys/Girls)
- Fine Arts (Choir and Band)
To participate, homeschool students must meet eligibility requirements; residency requirements; compliance with UIL rules on age, academic eligibility and amateur status; and a passing score on a nationally recognized, norm-referenced academic assessment prior to the first six weeks of eligibility.
Homeschool students who join a Life School UIL program are expected to attend the daily athletic, band, or choir period, participate in all practices and team activities, and follow the same attendance, transportation, and code of conduct standards as enrolled students. Annual participation fees vary by campus and program.
