Life High School Waxahachie News & Notes

Life School, a Dallas area charter school, recently made a bold and innovative change to its structure by moving to a 4-day school week. The 4-day school week is designed to boost student well-being; maintain strong student attendance; provide quality instruction for students; retain and attract quality teachers and staff; and give time back to students and staff to improve overall performance and quality of life. Students attend Monday-Thursday, with most Fridays off.

Life School is one of the few charter school districts that competes in UIL activities. As an open-enrollment district, students come to Life School from all over the Dallas area. And while winning on the field is fun, it’s not the main driver of success taught at Life School.

Life High School Waxahachie (LHSW) is thrilled to announce that two of its outstanding students, Arielle Holmes, a senior, and Shane Williams, a junior, have been awarded the prestigious 2023 National African American Recognition Award (NAARA) by the College Board. This recognition celebrates their exceptional academic achievements and contributions to their community.

This school year, Life School began its partnership with Texas State Technical College (TSTC) to provide occupational skills training for high school students at Oak Cliff and Waxahachie campuses. The partnership supports Life School’s commitment to help students become “ready for life” through college, career or military readiness.
