LSRO Presents The Wizard of Oz

Life School Red Oak Presents The Wizard of Oz

The Life School Red Oak (LSRO) Theatre Club proudly presents “The Wizard of Oz” on Saturday, March 9, 2024. The musical performance is based on the novel by L. Frank Baum. Open to the community, the musical will take place at the Chautauqua Auditorium in Waxahachie.

LSRO Theatre Club Sponsor and Life School Alumna Aryana Keathley says, “Directing this play has been a dream come true! This production is my first time directing a musical, and I couldn't have imagined a better cast and crew. Being a Life School graduate and being heavily involved in theatre throughout Junior High and High School, I was thrilled to get the opportunity to share theatre with these elementary students. I really feel that every actor and crew member has grown so much this year. It shocks me every day that these kids are 4th, 5th, and 6th graders because of their work ethic and maturity. It is going to be an amazing show!”

The LSRO Theatre Club of thirty students was started by Keathley just last year as she joined the staff as the campus librarian. The club held its first performance last spring, with over 400 in attendance.

“The Wizard of Oz” can be seen at the Chautauqua Auditorium in Waxahachie on Saturday, March 9, at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Each show will be ninety minutes long with a fifteen-minute intermission. The Waxahachie Chautauqua Auditorium is located at Getzendaner Park at 400 S. Grand St., Waxahachie, TX 75165. Tickets are $7 for general admission, $5 for Life School students, staff, and all veterans, and free for children three years of age and younger. Tickets can be purchased online only.
