Life High School Waxahachie Soccer Coach Celebrates Monumental 200th Win Milestone

Chase Bishop, the Head Boys and Girls Soccer Coach at Life High School Waxahachie (LHSW), has achieved a remarkable milestone victory with his 200th career win on Tuesday night with a 7-1 win over district opponent Alvarado.

Bishop's dedication to excellence can be seen in the Life Lions, Mustangs, and Lady Mustangs success on and off the field over the past nine years. With an outstanding overall total career record of 200-60-12 at Life School, Coach Bishop's influence extends far beyond mere wins and numbers. His commitment to Life School's mission and athletic vision has fostered a culture of leadership, teamwork, and achievement within the soccer programs at Life School. “I’m just honored to have been able to coach with amazing athletes, coaches, parents, and Life School leadership who have been by my side during this journey. I know it’s a team effort, and I’m grateful to Life School and our Athletic Administration for trusting in me and supporting me in every way. I’m thankful to have the support of my wife and kids. Nothing would be possible without them.” stated Bishop.

Bishop joined Life School in 2007, and Life School joined UIL soccer in 2014. In just nine years, Coach Bishop has led Life School soccer programs to five district championships, five regional tournaments and has an impressive total of 19 playoff victories. His leadership has cultivated winning teams and instilled invaluable lessons of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among his players.

“We use our sports programs as a tool to prepare young men and women for Life after LIFE. Chase believes this, and by going through his soccer program, you will be a better person and better prepared for what you will face as you transition out of high school”, stated Athletic Director Scott Thrush.  “All the championships and wins are great, but what he teaches our student-athletes about life is the ultimate banner of achievement. Kids that play for Coach Bishop love him, and that’s because he truly cares about them as a person and not just as an individual who helps us win games”.

Currently, the LHSW Mustangs are ranked 27th in the state by MaxPreps, with a 10-4-1 record. Meanwhile, the Lady Mustangs have a 15-2-1 record, ranked 10th in the state. Both teams remain undefeated in District 6-4A, fueling anticipation for their potential state playoff appearances and aspirations for a shot at the state championship title.

As Coach Bishop marks this significant milestone, he is the first to say that this is an accomplishment for the entire Life School Family. Life School would like to thank his wife, Kayla Bishop, and their three children for sharing Chase with us. Also, all former and current assistant coaches, players, admin, parents, managers, and fans who played a role, this is for you.

Life School will celebrate Coach Bishop and this milestone on February 9 at 5:30 PM at Mustang Field, where all are invited to attend.
