LHSW Marching Band

Life High School Waxahachie Band Makes History

The goal-oriented band program, which began in 2013 with only four students, finished the season with its highest achievement yet. Relatively new to the competition marching band world, the LHSW Mustang Band first competed in UIL in 2017.

On October 18th, the LHSW band competed at the UIL Region 20 Marching Contest for only the 4th time. Ninety students performed the 2021-2022 Marching Band show entitled Uncharted Frontier. The band received their highest marks ever with 2 judges rating the band Excellent, (a rating of a 2 on the UIL scale) and 1 judge rating the band Superior (a rating of a 1 on the UIL scale.)

“We are very proud of our students for this accomplishment especially with this being the fourth time that the band has ever competed in the UIL marching contest,” says LSHW Band Director Anthony Gaddy. “We are looking forward to the spring semester where we will have two bands compete in the UIL Region 20 Concert and Sight-Reading evaluations.”

The Life High School Waxahachie Band can also be seen participating in the upcoming Waxahachie Christmas Parade on November 30th.
