One of the things that sets Life School apart from other districts is the amount of support teachers receive.

Some of the available supports include:

• On-going professional development through the support of district coordinators and campus instructional coaches (including a Bilingual Instructional Coach at the Oak Cliff Campus).
• Curriculum resources to support pacing, lesson creation, lesson implementation, and differentiation.
• Professional Learning Community (PLC) time is scheduled at all campuses to help teachers  work together to enhance teaching practices and support student learning.
• Each new teacher is paired with a mentor teacher for the first year
• Administrative support on campus norms and expectations

House Bill 3 (HB3) established the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) to recognize effective teachers on three levels: Recognized, Exemplary, and Master. These teacher designations generate additional teacher-focused allotment funding for districts for them to reward their top performers.

Teachers earn designations through two different routes. First, National Board Certified teachers are eligible to earn a Recognized designation. Second, districts may designate effective teachers when approved for a local teacher designation system. The approval process is multi-step and includes submitting a system application to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and then a data validation process through Texas Tech University.

Life School awards the full 90% of the allotment to designated teachers (minus allowable deductions).

Average Campus Allotment

Life School uses The Work Number from Equifax for all employment and salary verification requests. 

What is the Work Number?

The Work Number allows a simple, secure, and private way to get verification of your employment and income information to Verifiers when needed, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. This means transactions outside of normal business hours and/or weekends and holidays that require employment or salary verification can be done immediately.

What information should employees provide to the verifier?

Go to The Work Number and provide them with the employer code 11332487.

Who is considered a verifier?

Any lending institution, property manager, government agency or other organization with a permissible purpose to verify the employment or income of an employee.

What is the employer code?

This code identifies our organization with The Work Number. It can be searched by typing in our company name or you can use the employer code 11332487 to access The Work Number.

Can the employee pull their own verification?

No, the employee is not able to pull their verification because the verifier wants that information to come directly from the employer. While the employee is unable to generate their own verification, they can view their data on The Work Number via the Employment Data Report. Login to review employment information contributed to The Work Number.

Social Services Verification

Social Services Verifications are used in determining benefits eligibility for government-sponsored health and welfare programs such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), Medicaid, subsidized housing, etc.

As with commercial Verifiers (mortgage, pre-employment, financial services, etc.), social service agencies should be directed to The Work Number to fulfill their verification needs. The website will instruct them on how to register to use the service. Once they are credentialed, they can use the same automated process that commercial Verifiers use to perform instant verification of employment and income.
