Teachers do not “have” to participate in TIA; however, all teachers will complete the required components for TIA through participation in T-TESS since student growth is a necessary component of the evaluation system. All teachers will participate in T-TESS since it is the board-adopted evaluation system at Life School. Teachers who fail to complete the student growth process, either through the SLO process or the Pre-Test/Post-test process, may only earn up to a score of Developing on Dimensions 1.2 and 2.5.
Stakeholder feedback indicated that teachers would like TIA compensation to be TRS eligible. The Life School Finance department worked directly with our TRS Reporting Entity Coach in advance of the payout to determine our eligibility based on the TIA compensation plan.
