Teachers do not “have” to participate in TIA; however, all teachers will complete the required components for TIA through participation in T-TESS since student growth is a necessary component of the evaluation system. All teachers will participate in T-TESS since it is the board-adopted evaluation system at Life School. Teachers who fail to complete the student growth process, either through the SLO process or the Pre-Test/Post-test process, may only earn up to a score of Developing on Dimensions 1.2 and 2.5.

To be submitted to Texas Tech for designation, teachers must still be employed full-time in a teaching position in October of the following submission year. For teachers who are designated, teachers must still be employed full-time in a teaching position by August 31st of the following year when the allotment payout is made.
