The Mission of Life School is to develop leaders with life skills through strong academics, character training, and partnerships with parents and the community.
Parent nights, family nights and other campus events are provided throughout the year. Your participation demonstrates to your child that you value their learning. Events can be found in your campus ParentSquare.
Teachers work hard to engage students in the classroom. Often, things as simple as snacks for students or supplies for students in need can made a huge difference. Watch for sign-ups from your child's teachers.
Parents are welcome on campus. You will occasionally see opportunities to volunteer at school — whether in the classroom, or by supporting teachers with things as simple as making copies.
Your child's attitudes about education are influenced by your own. Your commitment to learning, demonstrated by your involvement, often says more than your words.
You don't do it for glory. But, we believe parents should be honored for the roll they play in the education and success of their children. Each choice you make contributes to your potential to be selected as a Life School Parent Partner of the Year.
During LifeLeader Family Nights, students and families spend the evening learning more about our LifeLeader attributes by playing games, making crafts, creating calming bracelets, and more!
We will be problem-solvers by communicating with parents regarding student progress and any issues in the classroom.
Your partnership in addressing academic challenges is vital. Together, through open communication and a shared commitment to finding solutions, we can empower your child to achieve their educational goals and build essential learning habits.
Here are some additional digital resources that are presented at campus family nights to help you tackle problem-solving at home.
At the elementary level, we dedicate 10–15 minutes each day to Life Habits, our social, emotional, and behavioral learning time. These moments open the door for ongoing conversations that continue long after the lesson ends. Watch a quick 3-minute overview of Life Habits.
To help you better understand Standards-Based Grading (SBG), Life School has put together helpful resources for parents. We encourage you to explore the following tools available on the district website:
These resources are designed to support families in understanding how Standards-Based Grading benefits student learning and growth.
In today's fast-paced digital world, fostering Social Awareness, the ability to understand others’ emotions and meet the needs and concerns of others, is more crucial than ever. The former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy highlights that kids between the ages of 10 and 19 are undergoing a highly sensitive period of brain development, making them particularly vulnerable to the challenges of the online world.
By working in partnership with parents and educators, we can guide our learners to navigate the online world safely, respectfully, and with empathy, strengthening their resilience and helping them become LifeLeaders both online and offline. Click here for a digital copy of the presentation.
