Life School, in accordance with state law, provides workers’ compensation benefits to employees who suffer a work-related illness or are injured on the job. Workers’ compensation benefits pay for medical treatment and make up for part of the income lost while recovering.
All work-related accidents or injuries must be reported immediately to the employee’s supervisor, campus nurse, and the facilities supervisor. In addition, an Employer’s First Report of Injury must be completed even if the injured employee refuses treatment and submitted to the Benefits Department.
Employees who are unable to work due to a work-related injury must contact the Benefits Specialist immediately and will be notified of their rights and responsibilities under the Texas Labor Code.
