The Life School Education Foundation recently reached a major milestone, exceeding $1,000,000 in funds raised since its inception in 2015. The funds are used each year to award scholarships for graduating Life School seniors and teacher grants to encourage innovative educational strategies and ideas in the classroom.

Life School Men’s Basketball celebrated their latest District Championship with a net cutting ceremony after their warm-up game vs. Nolan Catholic on Monday, February 14, which the Mustangs won 54-42. The Mustangs were undefeated in district play (12-0) for the 2021 season and hold a 29-5 season record.

Strength, endurance and strength are the keys to success, according to Waxahachie Life head track coach Lyle Linscomb, who says, “All three strengths have to be there.”

During the team’s media day Saturday, February 12, Linscomb shared with the Sun how he starts preparing his athletes in the fall for the spring track season.

“We begin in September with the kids that don’t do anything else,” he said. “We go through a strength phase starting in the weight room; we don’t focus on speed early on. Then we start transferring that into endurance stuff.  Just before the Christmas break, we begin working on speed, getting ready for the season start. This is where we bring all the elements together for their being able to run faster longer."

During January's 'Coaches Spotlight,' Life School's athletic department recognized Dewayne Volentine for his sacrifice of time and passion for Life School athletics.

Waxahachie, TX, February 1, 2022 – Life High School Waxahachie (LHSW) is excited to announce that Amber Strange has been named as the head volleyball coach for the Lady Mustangs. Strange most recently worked as a graduate assistant at Tarleton State University while also serving on coaching staff for the volleyball team.

January 25, 2022 – Reading, and thinking critically, are among the most important parts of learning. But, it can be difficult to help students develop critical thinking skills. They are great at answering questions about what is explicitly stated, but Life School works to help students think beyond the text.

Life School, a public charter school district operating in North Texas, has recently appointed three new members to serve on the Board of Directors.

Life School Oak Cliff has named Cole Orrick as its new Head Football Coach, effective January 4, 2022. 

In the spirit of giving, Life School student-athletes and staff stepped up their volunteer efforts this year to assist those in need throughout the community. From food pantries to clothing closets, and mentorship opportunities - students exercised citizenship and gained hands-on experience while giving back.
