Taylor Farms Boosts Education and Comfort with Scholarships and Pajamas

Taylor Farms made a meaningful impact on the Life School Oak Cliff community this winter. Known for its commitment to fresh, sustainable food, the company extended its support to seniors at Life School Oak Cliff Secondary (LSOCS) by offering scholarships to cover senior fees. In addition, Taylor Farms brought warmth and comfort to an English as a Second Language (ESL) class at Oak Cliff Elementary (LSOCE), donating pajamas to every student in the class. These efforts reflect Taylor Farms’ ongoing dedication to supporting education and enriching the lives of young people.

Taylor Farms is a family-owned business dedicated to growing and selling fresh produce across North America. They offer a variety of convenient products, from salad kits to snack packs, designed to make meal preparation easier for busy consumers. Committed to fostering a healthy environment and community, Taylor Farms prioritizes sustainability by conserving water, reusing energy, and maintaining soil health. Notably, they are the first fresh food company to achieve Platinum Certification for Zero Waste, setting a high standard for environmental responsibility. But, that’s not all they do!

Each year, Taylor Farms awards scholarships to schools across the country. For 2024, LSOCS was among the recipients. This scholarship was designed to help cover senior fees, with applications opening at the end of September. “We hope to help relieve some of the stress seniors have with having to raise money to pay for their cap and gown and senior activities, and help them focus on graduation, enrolling in higher education or life pursuits”, said Brandy Salazar-Lima, Taylor Farms HR Manager. Every senior who applied was awarded a scholarship at the beginning of December. In total, 15 students received $500 each to help cover the cost.

On top of that, they also donated pajamas to kindergarten students in the ESL class at LSOCE. As Taylor Farms was working on the scholarships with LSOCS, Salazar-Lima connected with Isabel Green, an ESL kindergarten teacher. “She shared some very touching stories about her students, and we knew they were the class we wanted to sponsor,” said Salazar-Lima. The pajamas were given to 11 students just in time for winter break.

Taylor Farms is just one of a number of community partners who invest in Life School students. Life School continues to look for businesses and organizations who want to enrich the lives of future community leaders.
