Life School Mask Update | 3.4.21
Dear Life School Families and Staff,
On Tuesday, March 2nd, Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order lifting the mask mandate in Texas and increasing the capacity of all businesses and facilities in the state to 100%, effective Wednesday, March 10th.
On Wednesday, March 3rd, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) updated its Public Health Guidance. TEA recommends that public school systems consult with their local public health officials and local legal counsel regarding mask policies associated with COVID-19. Any changes to COVID-19 policies will require approval by the Life School Board of Directors.
Life School remains committed to protecting the safety of our students and staff. At this time, Life School will continue to follow our current social distancing and mask protocols. As a reminder, this policy states that all Life School staff are required to wear a facial covering while in the classroom or common spaces. All students in grades 4-12 are required to wear a facial covering while in classrooms, hallways, and common spaces. Facial coverings are highly recommended for students in grades K-3.
Life School will continue to monitor information from TEA, local health officials, legal counsel, and other available resources. We will provide an update to staff and families if any changes to the policy are made.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
