An eighth-grade Life Middle School Waxahachie student, Jordan O’Neal, competed in the Advanced/Blackbelt 8-12 Female Power Board Breaking division at the prestigious U.S. Open ISKA World Martial Arts Championships. This highly anticipated event was held from July 4-6, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
The U.S. Open ISKA World Martial Arts Championships is widely recognized throughout the sports industry as the pinnacle of performance and prestige. Competing in this event is a significant achievement and a testament to Jordan's extraordinary abilities.
Beyond her martial arts accomplishments, Jordan is a dedicated Girl Scout, a percussionist in the Life Middle School Waxahachie band, and an active member of the media team at her church. Her commitment to academics and extracurricular activities demonstrates remarkable discipline and dedication.
Jordan hopes to inspire other girls to participate in sports traditionally dominated by men. She says, "I want to encourage other girls to join martial arts and show them they can be strong and powerful too. I look up to my instructors, who are incredible female athletes and ambassadors for a sport I love. I hope to be a positive role model like them."
She placed 2nd in all three events, with her best break being a foot stomp, where she broke 14 out of 15 boards.
