The Life High School Waxahachie (LHSW) Theatre Program proudly presents “Cinderella” on Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3, 2022. The performance is based on the musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Open to the community, the musical will take place at the Waxahachie Chautauqua Auditorium.
LHSW Theatre Program Director and Life School Alumna Jacqueline Rose Cabrera says, “Directing this show has been an amazing experience. Taking on such a popular musical was no small feat but our students were up to the challenge! They have worked so hard on the set, choreography, music, makeup, and props! We are very proud to showcase what we have been working on all semester in our musical theatre class, our JV Tech Production class, and during our after-school rehearsals. I am so proud of how much they have grown, and I can't wait for you to see it.”
The LHSW Theatre Program of nearly 50 students began when the campus opened in 2015. Since then, the LHSW theatre program has taken first place in the University Interscholastic League One Act Play (UIL OAP) district contest, qualified for regionals for the UIL OAP (2021) and qualified for the state UIL OAP (2019).
Part of Life School’s mission is to partner with parents and the community. The LHSW Theatre Program lives out this mission by performing for the community yearly at The Waxahachie Chautauqua Auditorium and Railyard Park in Waxahachie.
“Cinderella” can be seen at the Waxahachie Chautauqua Auditorium Friday, December 2, at 6:00 PM and Saturday, December 3, at 1:00 PM. The Waxahachie Chautauqua Auditorium is located at 400 S. Grand St., Waxahachie, TX 75165.
