Life High School Oak Cliff National Honor Society Awarded Grant from Carter Blood Care

Life High School Oak Cliff (LHSOC) National Honor Society (NHS) is thrilled to announce the receipt of a $500 grant from Carter Blood Care, a leading nonprofit blood center serving North, Central, and East Texas. This remarkable contribution will benefit the NHS Lions Chapter at LHSOC's ongoing mission to foster academic excellence, community service, and leadership among its members.

The Life School Oak Cliff NHS Chapter qualified and received this grant by participating in the Great Grants Program. To qualify, the group held three blood drives within one academic year. Once the requirements are met through the grant program, qualified schools are entered to win a Great Grant.

Dr. Alissa Russell, LHSOC Teacher and NHS Sponsor, expressed her gratitude for the grant, stating, "The NHS Lions Chapter at LHSOC is pleased to partner with Carter Blood Care and host these life-saving blood drives. Each donor's blood is used to save three lives. It also allows us to educate others at our school on the importance of volunteering and giving. We are very grateful for this partnership."

Carter Blood Care has a long history of philanthropy and community involvement, and their representative shared their enthusiasm for supporting the Life School National Honor Society. The grant will support various NHS initiatives, including community service projects, member fees, and supplies for future induction ceremonies. The NHS Chapter operates as a service organization, resulting in the student organization sustaining its operations and activities through fundraising efforts.

Life High School Oak Cliff National Honor Society is committed to positively impacting both their school and the wider community, and this grant will undoubtedly help them achieve their goals.
