Life High School Oak Cliff Names Cole Orrick New Head Football Coach

Coach Orrick most recently served as Defensive Coordinator for the Life School Oak Cliff Lions after serving as the Linebacker’s Coach in his first year with Life School in 2019, a season that saw the Lions finish with an 8-3 record and the school’s second-ever playoff berth. This past season, the Lions finished 4-6.

A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Orrick was a 3-year letter-winner at St. James Academy (Lenexa, KS) and then played one year at the collegiate level. While finishing his Bachelor of Business Administration at Fort Hays State, Orrick coached at his alma mater and was an intern for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Life School Athletic Director Scott Thrush said there were more than 50 applicants for the head football coach position and Coach Orrick was the best fit to lead the Lions. “Coach Orrick was able to take on some head coaching responsibilities throughout this past season as well as serving as interim head coach since the season ended. He is focused on our mission and athletic vision and has tremendous relationships with the student-athletes and staff. Coach Orrick sees coaching football as an opportunity to prepare and develop young men to be leaders for life. He is humble, hard-working, and a very talented educator and coach. We are excited to name Coach Orrick as the leader of the Life High School Oak Cliff football program and are looking forward to the future under his leadership.”
