Life School Central Office News

Parent Update | 9.3.20
Dear Life School Families,
I want to start by thanking you for partnering with us to support students in the remote learning environment.
We appreciate your resilience as we learn and grow together. Our doors have been closed since spring break and we are eagerly anticipating the return of the students who selected the face-to-face learning option for the first nine weeks.
While we could not be more excited to welcome students on campus, it will be imperative for all students to follow our safety protocols in order for us to keep our doors open. If your student is planning to return to campus on September 14th, please review our Face-To-Face Learning Plan carefully and share these expectations with your student.
As we work to reopen, I continue to be encouraged by the information we are receiving on a regular basis from local health officials. Just yesterday, Dallas County officials lowered the COVID-19 threat to level orange for the first time since May due to a sharp decrease in coronavirus deaths and hospitalizations. However, officials encourage residents to continue to use caution over the upcoming holiday weekend by maintaining physical distancing, wearing masks, and following other safety guidelines.
For families who selected the remote learning option, the instruction format will remain the same as it has been for the first two weeks of school. Life School will provide the opportunity to change a student’s learning preference from remote learning to on-campus learning two weeks prior to the start of the next nine-week grading period. Families who wish to change from on-campus learning to remote learning may do so at any time throughout the school year.
Thank you all for being mindful of the risks in keeping everyone safe in preparation for a return to campuses. I hope you all are able to take time to rest and relax during this much deserved holiday weekend. Our task at hand is great, but we are resilient and will continue to learn and grow together!
Sincerely,
Brent Wilson, EdD
Life School Superintendent
