In light of the current rise in COVID-19 cases locally, please remember to monitor yourself and your students daily for symptoms. Please review Life School’s COVID-19 prevention strategies by clicking here. Life School will continue to offer free testing for all staff members that are symptomatic or have been exposed. To find a testing site near you, please visit the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 Testing Resources page.

The CDC recommends that children aged 5-11 be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer Biotech pediatric vaccine now that the FDA has authorized it for Emergency Use. For parents who wish to have their child vaccinated against COVID-19, please click here to locate a vaccination site near you.
Federal Report Cards Now Available to View
Federal Report Cards for the state, the district, and each of the district’s campuses are now available on the district’s website by clicking here. The reports are also available on the Texas Education Agency’s website. To obtain a paper copy, please contact your student’s campus.
Attendance and Student Success
One early indicator of student success is attendance. According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, consistent student attendance leads to both mastery of skills and knowledge, as well as increased student engagement at school. One of Life School’s strategic goals is to close the opportunity gap for all students. Regular attendance and prompt arrival to school are key factors in helping students be successful. Parents can use the Parent Portal to monitor students grades and attendance.
Strengths with Students
Sixth grade students from LSOCE are now exploring their personal strengths by learning about the CliftonStrengths Explorer. A continuation of the Momentous Institute social and emotional learning curriculum that students complete in grades K-5, these LifeLeaders are learning about their own strengths. Led by Counselor Deanna Woods, students are engaged in monthly strengths activities which will allow them to be more socially aware and self-managed.
LHSOC Names New Head Football Coach
Life High School Oak Cliff has named Cole Orrick as its new Head Football Coach, effective January 4, 2022. Coach Orrick most recently served as Defensive Coordinator for the Life School Oak Cliff Lions after serving as the Linebacker Coach in his first year with Life School in 2019.
Sub-Spotlight - Ms. Hope Oriabure King
During December's 'Coaches Spotlight,' Life School's athletic department recognized two coaches whose leadership has excelled on and off the field.
