Life School District Parent Updates
Back to School 2020
Dear Life School Families, Thank you to all who have already completed the Learning Option Commitment Form. As of today, 64% of Life School students have selected remote learning for the first 9 weeks of school. While we had hoped to offer both on-campus and remote learning beginning the first day of school, there have been several announcements at the state and local level that have impacted our start of school plans.
Due to the Dallas County order preventing schools from returning to on-campus learning prior to September 8th, along with guidance from TEA, Life School has made the decision to delay the start of school date by one week. All Life School students will begin on August 19th via remote learning until at least September 8th. The decision to change our start date will allow our staff additional time to prepare for remote learning while having minimal impact on our district calendar. The on-campus start date is subject to change, per state and local public health guidance.
To help us provide a seamless transition from remote learning to on-campus learning when possible, please continue to complete the Learning Option Commitment Form by logging into SchoolMint here.
In order to provide additional information and answer questions, we will host an all-parent virtual meeting on Wednesday, July 29th at 6 PM. A link to this meeting will be sent out next week as well as posted to our Back to School page, where you can find answers to many of your questions. This meeting will also be recorded for you to view at your convenience. We encourage you to visit our FAQ page because questions and answers will be updated as new information becomes available. Please submit any additional questions you have by clicking the Parent Questions Form and we will work to address as many of these as possible during the meeting.
We know there are a lot of changes happening at a rapid pace. We thank you for your continued support and flexibility. We are dedicated to making decisions that keep the safety of staff and students our top priority every day.
