We are working with architects, engineers and master planners to ensure that the property is well-designed, aesthetically pleasing, and retains trees and green spaces around the entire campus.

No. Charter school construction bonds are not funded in the same way as public ISDs and do not affect tax rates.

We continue to work with the City of Duncanville and lighting engineers to ensure minimal lighting exposure for existing neighbors and the community.

Students will need to follow the current UIL charter school residence rules.  If a student lives in the Duncanville ISD attendance zone and selects this site at the first opportunity, they are varsity eligible.  Students who transfer to and live outside of Duncanville ISD attendance zone will not be varsity-eligible for 365 days.

Title I eligibility is determined on an annual basis for all campuses based on the current percentage of economically disadvantaged students.

We have been intentional throughout our history to grow at a manageable pace. The new 4A high school will be able to accommodate up to 1,200 students. We value the campus culture and will take a phased approach as we add new students. It may take several years to reach total capacity.

We are exploring the possibility of a Pre-K. However, there is no immediate plan.

We won’t have a list of specific personnel needs until the master plan is complete.

Yes. There will be a dedicated space for all testing materials and equipment.

The new high school and middle school construction will not impact the current elementary building. However, we are exploring options that may reduce middle school use of the elementary building, which could provide more space for the elementary campus.

The focus for middle school students will be on the construction of a new middle school in Duncanville after the completion of the new high school. The timeline for the new middle school will depend upon the completion of the high school and the achievement of enrollment goals. We are assessing what updates may be made to the Oak Cliff secondary campus.

We are currently assessing safety and security options for the new property.

The safety and security of our students and staff are our top priority. We follow all state requirements/guidelines for campus security across the district. We also regularly have a safety and security committee meeting to address additional needs/initiatives to keep students and staff safe.

The new property is 7.3 miles from the Oak Cliff campus, 10.7 miles from the Mountain Creek campus, 4.6 miles from the Cedar Hill campus, and 10.5 miles from the Lancaster campus.

No. We hold a special appreciation for Oak Cliff because it is where our Life School story began. The elementary school will remain at the Oak Cliff location. The middle school will remain at the Oak Cliff location until a new middle school is built.

We explored scenarios for a remodel or new construction at the Oak Cliff campus. However, it was not feasible to provide the needed facilities for our students at our current location and avoid a decade of ongoing construction. The new property provides more than 70 additional acres for us to build a quality school to serve our families. We are confident the new high school will provide top-quality service only 7.3 miles away.

We currently have elementary and/or middle schools in Oak Cliff, Mountain Creek, Cedar Hill, and Lancaster. When we looked at the home addresses of our current students, the Duncanville property was centrally located to each of those campuses – providing a convenient pathway for Life School families at each of these campuses.

Yes. Families will have the opportunity to apply to either high school.

The majority of students attending the new campus will be Life School students from our elementary and middle school campuses. However, families throughout Dallas and Ellis counties will be able to apply for enrollment as we are an open-enrollment charter school.

We are designing a traffic flow to make pick-up and drop-off smooth for families. High school traffic will enter from Cockrell Hill Road, and traffic for the future middle school will enter from Danieldale Road.
